I'm calling for nominees to enter official NHS awards, in recognition of staff who go above and beyond the call of duty.
The NHS Parliamentary Awards were created to celebrate NHS staff, carers and volunteers - their hard work, innovative ideas and unwavering efforts to put patients first.
I'm searching for outstanding nominees for 2019 who have innovated, impressed and made a real difference to how the NHS provides care for patients.
The Parliamentary Awards 2019 recently launched in Parliament, and all those who are shortlisted for excellence will be invited to an award ceremony in Parliament to celebrate their fantastic achievements. There are ten categories, including a lifetime achievement award, so if you know an NHS hero who deserves recognition, you can find out more about here: www.england.nhs.uk/nhs-parliamentary-awards/categories-criteria
Last year over 250 MPs nominated an individual or organisation for an award. There were over 750 nominations from MPs in England: 750 reasons why the national and regional judging panels made up of leading health and care figures were blown away by the talent, creativity and brilliance in the NHS, spotlighted by England’s MPs.
The NHS is rightly the nation’s most loved institution, and it’s only right that we thank the extraordinary heroes working in it who are there to care for us, day in, day out.
Many of us have had an experience where we have been left eternally grateful to a member of NHS staff who has gone above and beyond for us when we needed them to. I want to hear your shining examples of people in the NHS who have delivered outstanding care that deserves national recognition.
