It was a privilege to meet doctors and nurses while on a tour of the Tree House children’s unit at Stepping Hill Hospital.
It was my first visit to the hospital since being elected as the Member of Parliament for Cheadle and was impressed by the hard work of the all the staff there.
Staying in hospital is a worrying time for any child and their parents, so it’s fantastic to see a team who are so dedicated to their jobs. They don’t just treat the youngsters there, but really care for them; cheering them up and helping them feel at home.
While at the hospital I also took a look around the unit’s new play area, which was opened earlier in the year with the help of donations from local charity MedEquip4Kids and found out that more than 6,000 children a year are now treated at the unit.
