The government has recently announced the schools which have been successful in applying for money from the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF). The main priority of the CIF is to ensure that buildings are safe and in good working order for students to learn in. £466million will be spent on 1,435 projects at 1,184 academies and sixth-form colleges across the country, and I’m delighted that four projects at three schools in Cheadle are being given funding for repairs.
Gatley Primary School will receive money for a flat roof replacement, The Kingsway School and Hazel Grove High School will be able to replace their heating systems, and Hazel Grove High School will also receive money for replacement of roof coverings.
Every child deserves to be able to learn in a safe and modern building, so I’m glad that schools here are being given the resources they need to improve the learning environment for their pupils.
