The Chancellor said: "I was delighted to see work on the bypass underway in Cheadle. Mary Robinson campaigned hard for this project which is part of the £15 billion investment in roads I made last year. It's all part of a long term economic plan that's delivering more investment which in turn leads to more local jobs.''
After so many years of campaigning for this investment it’s great to finally see it happening. Residents have told me after such a long campaign that they’re thankful to finally see work beginning. After the visit Mary invited the Chancellor to have lunch and meet local businessman and entrepreneur Chris Syddall at his restaurant Beluga in Bramhall.
