I welcomed the Culture Minister, Sajid Javid to Cheadle to see how a Government campaign aims to give a much-needed broadband boost to the region. As part of the visit Mr Javid opened a new superfast broadband cabinet in Stepping Hill.

Broadband connectivity is still a problem in our area, we’re very lucky overall in Cheadle but certainly in the more rural parts of the constituency we welcome the drive to increase connectivity.

After the visit, Mr Javid said “The nationwide rollout of superfast broadband is a key part of the government's long-term economic plan and is already driving jobs and growth across the UK.”

 So many services are accessed online nowadays broadband can be a real emancipator. Delivering access to local and government services is just one benefit to increased connectivity.
