Last week I launched a petition about draft plans contained in the "Greater Manchester Spatial Frameworkâ that proposed the building of 8000 houses on precious green belt land in Woodford, Heald Green and Cheadle Hulme.
The draft plan shows an astonishing lack of vision and no real ambition or foresight, and whilst there is a need for more housing across the country, this should never be achieved by the indiscriminate development of our green belt.
You can read my statement here.
To show the strength of concern, I will be running an online e-petition, which you can find here, and a written petition to the House of Commons, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, which you can fill out and return to me free of charge.
You can either just sign it yourself, or collect some more signatures from people you know who also feel strongly about this important issue. There is no envelope or stamp needed, just print double sided then fold in three, secure with tape and put the petition in the post.
I look forward to hearing from you.
