Great news about funding for Hydrotheraphy Pool at the Seashell Trust
I am delighted with the news that the Seashell Trust has been awarded a massive cash boost of £250,000 to assist with the cost of a hydrotherapy pool.
In 2012, HM Treasury announced that the proceeds they received from LIBOR fines would be used to support charities and good causes, and the Government has committed £102 million of banking fines to these causes over the next four years.
In the recent Autumn Statement, the Chancellor, Phillip Hammond MP announced the latest round of awards, and the Seashell Trust has been awarded £250,000 to contribute towards the cost of an interactive hydrotherapy pool for children at the school.
This funding will help provide a much needed facility, and I am pleased that the income the Treasury receives from banking fines is used in such a positive way. Whilst there have been a significant number of awards made nationwide, it is heartening to hear that such a valued and highly regarded local school, renowned for its outstanding care and support for children and young adults with complex learning difficulties, has benefitted from this initiative.
