I was delighted to be on hand to get proceedings under way amid the broccoli and the blooms of Cheadle Hulme Flower Show Society’s annual show.
The flower show has been held every year since the Society was set up in 1960 and is the annual highlight of a full calendar of events and visits across the seasons.
Local people flocked to All Saints Parish Rooms to see the array of flowers, vegetables, and jams on display, as exhibitors, including allotment holders from Billys Lane and green fingered local gardners, vied for a number of trophies on offer for the best in their category. The Flower Show also extended to art exhibitions and cookery sections, displaying the best that Cheadle Hulme has to offer.
A huge thanks must go to the Cheadle Hulme Flower Show Society Committee for putting on a spectacular show for the 59th year running. It was great to see the many horticultural talents on display, and my congratulations go to all those who won trophies. Here’s to next year and the 60th anniversary!
